Hidden Curriculum of CES Don Bosco

I´m going to class at CES Don Bosco every day of the week, Monday to Friday, of course.  It´s my university and will be my work place during four years. Only I´ve gone 4 months to the university, because this is my first year in that place, but in this time y could see some things about the “hidden curriculum of DON BOS CES”.

To beginning and like say my sociology´s teacher “everything is clean”. It´s really true!! . The cleaner always are working, during the class, in the class where there are not any people. And when the class is over, they run to clean all the class to the next person for who want to enter to study, can do it in one place that there are very clean.

Other aspect of hidden curriculum, it can be the activities who program both “The direction” and “Asociación Bosmar”. In that 4 months that I´ve been on Don Bosco CES, I´ve been invited to 4 or 5 different extra-university activities. Differents representations on “salón de actos”, activities to go to visit to poor people or  elderly people in Christmas´s day.

The third aspect that I would want to comment, it´s the positions of the course’s class. I mean, the people who are studying the first year of the career,they are in the third floor. The people who are studying the second year of the career, they are on the second floor, and the people who are studying the last year of the career; they are in the first floor. So, that we are organized is one fact, but, in my opinion it´s one form to separate the years and to say “you have to pass the exams to can go to the other floor”.

Standford´s experiment

What do I think about that??

To beginning I have to say that I’ve never eared anything about this experiment, so the video that we watch in class, it was really strange to me. It was very interesting, and I learned how the human can her personality when you “give his” a specific role.

They was people of the same ages (more or less), they had the same social clash, etc, so… there wasn´t lot of differences between them.

It´s curious how one sunglasses, one specific uniform, in conclusion, ones roles symbols can to change the personality of one person. I´m talking about the polices and the prisoners.

It´s true, that they received some money to do this experiment, but, in my opinion, it´s one experiment very hard to life it, both polices and prisoners.

I have to say that I´ve never been in one experiment like that (uuuffff….) but I´ve to say that the tesis which the doctors wanted to prove… is a reality in our society.

One time, in one summer camp, the monitors said: “In this day, you´ll be monitor, and us, the monitors, will be camp´s kids”. I thought “GREAT! PERFECT!”. But it was not great and perfect. My personality with the other camp´s kids it wasn´t the same, my humor, neither. “I have the power” I thought, “everybody will do what I want”.

It was not very easy to me to admit that my behavior it was not the same, but some days after this day, I recognize that I was not be the same person. When I had the power, I was not “Ernesto”… I was “MR ERNESTO”.

To the people who read that blog and they don´t know anything of Stanford’s experiment, here you can watch it and then you can write me your opinion if you want.

My peer group.

In this blog i´m going to tell something about my peer group, who has more status into my group?.

To me is really difficult to answer this question because I think that in my peer group there is not one person who is more important than other, I think that there are differents roles.

My homeworks are that I have to write about the status issues and the things wich done that one person could be more "important" than other into my peer group.

So... I´m going to write about when all my friends are together and we are going to play football.

One of my friends has being playing at football all his life, in differents teams and he has played in differents cities of Spain. It´s a fact that he is the more important when we are going to play football and everybody want to play with him in the same team. He could be the higher status in this moment.

Then, there are two goalkeepers, and this is something that I like so much, because this it´s vital in one team! In this moment, they are who choose the teams and everybody knows that everybody has to be accord with the team. So, we can avoid discusions about the teams. They may be the "second most important" because we avoid many problems on the teams.

In the middle of the group, there are three of my friends. They play football ussually, but they are not "cracks" but they know play football very well. They could be in the middle because one day can do a fabolous match and other day a disaster match.

And, at the last, there are two friends who play basketball usually but that when we play footbal they play too and they do it good. They could be the least importants of my peer gropu in this example.

When ther are some types of problem in my peer group, often we talk about that and we solve at the moment. There is not "laws" in the group, but everybody knows when you do something that you couldn´t done. And it depends of the personality of the person to be angry or not with him.

Well, this is my peer group, is not better or worse than others, but is my peer group, and I love it.

The human´s behaviour in the school

Hi humans!

The last week I was in trip to the earth. I was looking the different human´s behaviour. I wanted to learn everything about the humans and the most surprising I saw, it was about education.

I was in some different schools and I could see the differents types of classes wich there are in the same world. It was very strange. In addition, I was searching all the differences between human´s education and alien´s education and I can say that I found lot of differences.

To start, the humans don´t have one similar building where they can study, there are many types of these. There are very big and rich places, but there are very small and poor places too. In my planet, everybody go to the similar building and any person can go to the school in the same conditions.

The most peculiar thing that i could see it´s that in this planet, " The Earth", it´s that the students sit down on a chair in some classes and write on the table while the teacher talk and talk and talk. And, in the same school, in other places, the childs were sitting on the floor.

I was so relaxed taking notes about the human´s education when in one moment, the most noise that i have listened in my long life started to sound. That noise means that the teacher has to stop to talk and the humans go home. The humans were so exited to go back home!!! And I thinked...Don´t they like the school? So... why do they go to school?
